Looking back at the Amrath hotel (with flags). Only a room on a houseboat would have been closer.

For the record, cabin 5. Tight, but quiet and comfortable (heat and AC in every room). Bags go under beds.

Michel (captain, right) and Eno (chef) pull the gangplank on board.

Dining/central room - we meet Nina (biking and city tour guide), Eno and Michel.

And we're underway heading South on the Amstel.

Michel will drop us off at the lock at Amstelveen and we'll meet up with the Barge at Kudelstaart where we'll eat and spend the night.
